• 2005: Camp at Sant Sarwan Dass Charitable Hospital

Medical camp at Sant Sarwan Dass charitable hospital

Adda Kathar, Distt. Jalandhar

16-03-2005 to 25-03-2005

A Multi-speciality free camp  was held at the above hospital which was arranged by Dr. Vijay Bangar.

Six cliicians from the United Kingdom were involved.

The British Medical Association, Department of Health, Royal College of Nursing had awarded this group a fund of £2000.

"The Department of Health (DH), the British Medical Association (BMA) and the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) recognise that a significant number of NHS healthcare staff undertake humanitarian work overseas. Much of this work is aimed at helping developing countries and societies in transition to address significant challenges they may face in meeting the healthcare needs of their people.
In order to support current activities, and to encourage the development of new initiatives, the DH has for the second year running made available a fund to cover incidental expenses of teams undertaking humanitarian projects and is working with the BMA International Committee and the RCN to allocate it. Applications to this fund may be made by any staff group within the NHS, with applications from multidisciplinary teams being particularly welcome. "
The camp was also sanctioned by the Indian Medical Association.
Pictures referring to this camp are available under the Galleries section.
